神爱世人,甚至将他的独生子赐给他们,叫一切信他的,不致灭亡,反得永生。
上帝愛世人,甚至將他的獨生子賜給他們,叫一切信他的,不致滅亡,反得永生。
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

What the Chinese Union Version is
The Chinese Union Version was first published in 1919, translated by missionaries and Chinese scholars into plain Mandarin. Its wording is the one many Chinese Christians grew up memorizing, singing and hearing from the pulpit.
VerseLume uses the Chinese Union Version with New Punctuation (新标点和合本), the edition with modern punctuation that churches use today.
Simplified or Traditional, your choice
Read in Simplified characters (简体) if you learned Chinese in mainland China, Singapore or Malaysia, or in Traditional characters (繁體) if you read Chinese from Taiwan, Hong Kong or an overseas church. You can switch at any time.
The two editions also differ in how they name God: the Simplified text uses 神 and the Traditional text uses 上帝, as in John 3:16 above.
