Your own word list
Make a practice list from your own spelling words
Use the spelling words you already have—on paper, in a photo, as text, or typed by hand—to create a practice list you can check before saving.
Snap Spell
Can I use my own spelling words?
Yes. Add the words from the list you already have, check each spelling before you save it, then return to that same list whenever it is time to listen, spell, or practise again. Snap Spell does not supply a school curriculum or preset school lists.
Choose the easiest way to add the list
Use the format you already have. The goal is to get the words into a list you can check, not to recreate a worksheet by hand.
Paper, photo, or screenshot
Scan the words or import an image when the list is already on paper or a screen.
Copied text
Paste words from a message, email, or other text when they are easy to select.
A short handwritten list
Type the words directly when that is quicker than using an image.
Check the list before you save it
A recognised or typed list is a starting point, not a promise that every word is right. Review the words, fix a spelling, remove a mistake, or add anything that is missing before you save. That keeps the practice list aligned with the words you actually need.
Use the same list for practice
Once the list is ready, the device can read a word aloud and the learner can answer aloud, on paper, or by typing, depending on the practice mode you choose.
Practice Together
One person plays each word while the learner spells it aloud or on paper.
Solo Test
Snap Spell reads each word and checks the spelling the learner types.
Choose the next words
Word status shows whether a word is To Study, Practicing, or Mastered, so the next session can stay with the current list.
What this list is—and is not
Snap Spell helps you work with words you bring to it. It does not supply a school curriculum, an official school list, or classroom and tutor-management tools.
Questions about using your own list
Can I start from a photo?
Yes. You can scan words or import a photo or screenshot, then review the recognised list before saving.
Can I correct a word after scanning?
Yes. Review the list before saving so you can fix spelling, delete mistakes, or add missing words.
Does Snap Spell provide a school word list?
No. It is designed for the spelling words you already have.
What if I want to decide between paper and an app first?
Use the paper-or-app comparison for a neutral way to choose the parts of practice you want help with.
