Snap Spell

From an image to a practice list

Start with a photo of the spelling words you already have

Start with the spelling words you already have in a printed list, photo, or screenshot. Review the recognised words before saving, then use the checked list for practice.

Snap Spell

Can I scan a spelling list and practise it?

Yes. A scan or imported image is the starting point, not a guarantee that every word is right. Check the recognised words before saving the list, then use that same checked list for listening or spelling practice.

Choose the material already in front of you

Use the format that holds the spelling words now. The point is to start from the list, not to create a general document archive.

A printed or handwritten page

Use Scan Words when the list is on a page in front of you.

A saved image or screenshot

Use Import Photos when the spelling words are already in an image.

Words you can select as text

Use the custom-list path to paste or type the words instead.

Check the words before saving

Treat the recognised list as something to review. Correct a spelling, remove an extra word, or add a missing word before saving so the practice list reflects the words you actually need.

Use the checked list for practice

After saving, the list is ready for a practice round. The same words can be used in either of the current modes.

Practice Together

One person plays each word while the learner spells it aloud or on paper.

Solo Test

Snap Spell reads each word and checks the spelling the learner types.

Keep the list in view

Return to the saved words when you want another round of practice.

Keep the next step clear

After starting from an image, check the words before saving and then choose the practice mode that fits the next round.

Questions about starting from a spelling-list image

Can I begin with a screenshot?

Yes. Import the image, then review and edit the recognised words before saving the list.

Why check the list after scanning?

Checking lets you correct, remove, or add words before practice starts with the saved list.

How can a learner use paper?

Use Practice Together when one person should play each word while the learner writes or spells it aloud.
