RooCards use case

Keep your existing library card barcode easy to find

Save the library or community card and barcode you already have, then check the code before you need it. RooCards is not a library account or borrowing app and does not replace the library’s own services.

  • Store existing library and community-card barcodes in one card library.
  • Name the card clearly so it is easier to recognise when you use it only occasionally.
  • Open and check the barcode or QR code before relying on it.

RooCards card wallet

Start with the cards you use most often, name them clearly, and keep the important ones easy to open.

Keep occasional cards from being misplaced

An existing library or community card can be useful only occasionally, which makes a clear name and a known place for its barcode more important.

Check the code before you need it

Open the saved card and confirm its name and barcode or QR code before you head to the library. This is a presentation check, not a change to the library record.

Use the library service for library tasks

Loans, renewals, catalogue access, account changes and library rules stay with the library or community service. RooCards only keeps an existing card or code accessible.

A simple place for a low-frequency card

  • Keep an existing library card together with other saved cards instead of looking for plastic at the last minute.
  • Use a clear card name so an occasional card is easier to identify.
  • Use the official library service for borrowing, renewals, catalogue access and account help.
