How to add cards to Apple Wallet with RooCards

Use this guide when you want a RooCards card available through Apple Wallet on iPhone and, when supported by the pass, Wallet on a paired Apple Watch.

How do you add a RooCards card to Apple Wallet?

On iPhone, open an eligible RooCards barcode or QR card, use the Apple Wallet option on the card detail screen, then confirm in Wallet. RooCards remains the full card library; Apple Wallet is for selected cards that should be quick to open from Wallet surfaces.

Add an eligible card in RooCards

  1. Open RooCards on iPhone and choose the card you want to use.
  2. Open the card detail page and find the Apple Wallet section.
  3. Choose Add to Apple Wallet and follow the Wallet confirmation screen.
  4. After the card is added, open it from Apple Wallet when that pass needs to be close at hand.

RooCards supports common barcode and QR formats including EAN-8, EAN-13, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, UPC-A, UPC-E, ITF-14, PDF417, Aztec, Data Matrix, and Codabar.

If Apple Wallet cannot use the original code format directly, RooCards can transcode by 1D/2D type where feasible. Some cards may still need to stay in RooCards.

Apple Wallet support is an iPhone path in RooCards. Android users should use the normal RooCards wallet flow from Google Play.

Using cards on Apple Watch

Apple says passes added to Wallet on iPhone can also be available in Wallet on a paired Apple Watch. RooCards does not need to be presented as a separate product for the watch for this benefit.

If Apple Wallet is unavailable

First check that you are using RooCards on iPhone and that the card is a good fit for a Wallet pass.

If Wallet service, pass support, or signing is temporarily unavailable, your card remains in RooCards so you can still open and scan it there.

Can RooCards add loyalty cards to Apple Wallet?

Yes. On iPhone, RooCards can add eligible barcode and QR code cards to Apple Wallet from the card detail page.

Does Apple Wallet access include Apple Watch?

Passes added to Wallet on iPhone can also be available in Wallet on a paired Apple Watch when that pass is available there.

What can I customize on a RooCards Apple Wallet pass?

RooCards can customize pass details such as the label, category, and strip image so frequent cards are easier to recognize in Apple Wallet.
