Idiom Shiguang Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-28

This policy describes Idiom Shiguang’s current data practices. Third-party services handle information under their own privacy policies.

Local game data

The app stores game progress, discovered idioms, preferences, and free-use records on the device. It does not require an app account.

iCloud sync (Plus)

If you have Plus and iCloud sync is on, your game progress is stored in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. You can turn sync off in Settings.

Turning sync off only stops syncing: the copy already in iCloud stays in your iCloud account, and removing the app does not delete it either. To clear the game progress in it, use Reset Game Progress while sync is on; the copy in iCloud and the progress on your other devices using the same iCloud account are reset too.

Information handled by services

The app uses Apple for subscriptions, RevenueCat for Plus access, and Google and Firebase services for the features described below. Depending on the feature you use, those services may handle an anonymous app or device identifier, device and app information, IP address, and subscription purchase or entitlement records.

Firebase Analytics may receive app-use events and Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash diagnostics. Both are on by default, are not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and can each be turned off in Settings › Privacy choices.

The app may receive operational settings, such as how many chapters are free; they never grant Plus and do not set the price displayed for a subscription.

No advertising

The app shows no ads, contains no advertising SDK, and does not ask for Apple’s tracking permission.

Reminders and widget

If you allow notifications, reminders (the daily-puzzle reminder you turn on, and a note the day before a free trial ends) are scheduled on your device only; no push service is used. The home-screen widget reads a small summary the app keeps on your device (today’s puzzle status, streak and an idiom you have found).

Retention, deletion, and contact

Local game records, including the backups the app saves before a reset or an iCloud merge, remain on the device until you remove the app; only the most recent backups are kept. Reset removes local progress and discoveries; it does not cancel a subscription or remove Plus access. Third-party services retain information under their own policies and applicable obligations. For a privacy question or request about information handled for the app, contact Marc X Studio at [email protected]. We will review the request and, where needed, direct you to the relevant provider.
